D.A.W.G.S. is entirely a volunteer effort - but thanks to the generous contributions of individuals, organizations and corporations, we are able to continue to train to the highest levels so that when called, we can respond with well trained, professional search teams. So, how can you help? Here are several ways: Make a donation. Monetary donations, unless specifically directed, go towards covering the ongoing expenses of any search and rescue organization: liability insurance, 2-way radios, pagers and subscriptions, SAR oriented educational courses, promotional materials, brochures, business cards, mailings, and other SAR related items. (note: DAWGS does not use professional fundraisers or subscribe to charities that do. Because of this, every penny donated to DAWGS goes directly to funding DAWGS) Monetary donations to DAWGS can be sent to:
Volunteer your time. We use volunteers as subjects in our many training sessions. If you enjoy the peace and quiet of sitting in the woods, we're looking for you! Donate an asset or a service. In addition to welcoming donations of cash and time, we welcome donations of physical assets such as dog crates and services such as printing for our brochures, handouts and business cards. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding donations of any kind. Donate a used vehicle. It doesn't even matter if it runs or not, and yes it is a tax deductible donation. You can donate practically any vehicles - cars, trucks, motorcycles, vans, commercial vehicles, jet skis, snowmobiles, motor homes, buses, and even boats - the vehicle will be picked up or towed at no cost to you, on your schedule, whether in running condition or not. The IRS has determined D.A.W.G.S. to be "exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501 (c)." In other words, we are a 501 (c) 3 Non Profit Organization. As such, any contributions to D.A.W.G.S. are tax deductible. Please consider making a tax deductible monetary donation to D.A.W.G.S., and check with your employer to see if they will match your contributions.
